Clint Bowyer: Fifth at Atlanta

Bowyer finished fifth in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Bowyer would start on the outside pole in his fast No. 14 Ford Mustang. He would fade outside the Top 10 at some points during the 500-mile race, but he would have no trouble racing his way back inside the lead pack. In the closing 50-laps the Stewart Haas Racing veteran would mount a charge to the front and take the checkered flag for an impressive fifth-place. Bowyer wanted more on this Sunday race day, but it was still a good performance and his first Top-5 finish of the season.
