Alex Bowman: Claims Outside Pole for Daytona 500
Bowman won the outside pole for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Sunday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 194.154 mph.
Analysis:
Bowman made it a front row sweep for Hendrick Motorsports in Sunday's Daytona 500 pole qualifying. The No. 88 Chevrolet was just a tick slower than William Byron's No. 24 machine, and would take the outside pole position for next Sunday's Great American Race. Bowman and Byron's combined age is just 46-years, so they are the youngest front row in Daytona 500 history. The driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet is looking forward to a big season in 2019.
