Martin Truex Jr.: Runner-up Finish at Charlotte

Truex Jr. finished second in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday evening.

Analysis:

It was a bit of an unusual race for the Furniture Row Racing No. 78 team. Truex would race most of the night inside the Top 10, but at times would struggle with the handling and fall back in the field. However, when it counted, Truex came on strong late in the final green-flag run to the finish. He would cut into Kyle Busch's massive lead, but the rally would fall a bit short. Truex would have to settle for the runner-up finish. It was his second-consecutive runner-up finish, and eighth Top 5 of the season.
