Arsenal find themselves a goal down to Manchester United following a second half blunder.
The Gunners dominated much of the first half and looked promising again to start the second until they imploded when a harmless cross into the box led to Wojciech Szczesny and Kieran Gibbs colliding in mid-air.
As both players were slow to recover, United winger Antonio Valencia unleashed a low shot towards Gibbs as he lay on the pitch.
Gibbs' attempt to stop the ball as it buzzed towards him saw the ball deflect off his leg and into the Arsenal net.
The situation got worse for Arsenal as Szczesny was forced to leave the match because of an injury after the collision.
