Kevin Harvick: Crash and Poor Finish at Fontana

Harvick crashed and finished 35th in the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

The day started out looking like the No. 4 Ford could charge to yet another win. However, Harvick would run into trouble early on in the Auto Club 400. On lap 39 he'd make contact on the outside of the No. 42 of Kyle Larson and it would send Harvick up the race track and hard into the wall. It looked like a combination of two drivers going for the same spot at the same time, and Harvick would come up on the short end of it. The team would spend several laps repairing the car and getting him back in action. However, Harvick would end up nine laps down to the leaders by the end of the race. The poor finish drops him from first- to eighth-place in the championship standings.
