Austin Dillon: Wins Daytona 500
Dillon won the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
This one would come down to survival, like many Daytona 500's of the past. Dillon would avoid the many wrecks over the closing stages of the race, and restart for NASCAR overtime in row 2. He'd give a good push to Aric Almirola into the lead on the restart, and then on the white flag lap Dillon would overtake the blocking No. 10 Ford. Unfortunately for Almirola, it would send him spinning into the wall. However, Dillon would not lift the gas pedal and would cruise to the finish line for his first Daytona 500 victory and second-career win.
