Jan Magnussen: Wins GTLM Pole for Rolex 24

Magnussen has put Corvette Racing on the GT Le Mans class pole for this weekend's Rolex 24 at Daytona, denying Joey Hand a repeat pole position by a narrow margin. The Corvette driver qualified with a time of 1:42.779 to beat Ford Chip Ganassi Racing's Hand, who was on pole for last year's race, by a mere 0.019 seconds, sportscar365.com reports.

Analysis:

The trio of Magnussen, Mike Rockenfeller and Antonio Garcia will roll off first in class for Saturday's Rolex 24. It was Magnussen's 20th North American pole between IMSA and Grand-Am Le Mans. The Corvette Racing No. 3 team have to be seen as one of the top contenders to win this prestigious endurance race.
