Brennan Poole: Rumored to Richard Childress Next Season
Chip Ganassi and Poole are expected to part ways at the end of the season, Motorsport.com has learned. According to sources close to the situation, the likely landing place for Poole is a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series ride at Richard Childress Racing. With Paul Menard departing for the Wood Brothers next season, RCR has a vacancy.
Analysis:
At this point this isn't much more than matching free agents with vacancies, so there's not much legs to these rumors yet. However, this situation would seem to fit both parties. NASCAR team owners turning to younger drivers has become a big trend the last couple seasons. It wouldn't be that surprising to see Poole land in RCR's No. 27 Chevrolet next season. At 26-years-old he is a bit older than most of the recent drivers promoted to the Cup Series.
