Denny Hamlin: Top-5 Finish at Charlotte

Hamlin finished fourth in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

It was a tough day at the track for most of the Joe Gibbs Racing stable, but Hamlin seemed to rise above his teammates. He led 45 laps and was able to set the pace from the drop of the green flag. The No. 11 Toyota would fall back in the field later in the race, but Hamlin wouldn't lose touch with the leaders. Over the final third of the race the veteran driver would consolidate his grip on a Top-5 spot and cross the finish line fourth. It was Hamlin's 13th Top 5 of the season and second Top 5 of the Chase. He leaves Charlotte fifth overall in the Chase for the Cup standings.
