Daniel Sturridge: Picks Up Calf Injury, Out 2-4 More Weeks
Sturridge, who was set to possibly return Sunday against QPR after missing more than a month with a thigh injury picked up while on international duty, has been ruled out for two to four more weeks after picking up a calf injury in training, Sky Sports reprots. "Daniel has pulled his calf," manager Brendan Rodgers said. "He's look at being out for another two to four weeks. It's a big blow as we were looking forward to welcoming Daniel back."
Analysis:
With the new timeline, Sturridge could miss up to seven matches, including two Champions League ties with Real Madrid. Mario Balotelli will likely continue to start up front for the Reds, with Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert also getting time in Sturridge's absence.
