Swansea play down reports of potential foreign investment
Recent reports have indicated that Swansea are in discussion with potential investors from the United States, Russia and Asia, inevitably leading to speculation that the Welsh club are set for a takeover.
But while the reports fall in line with chairman Huw Jenkins' assessment that Swansea are "miles behind" when it comes to commercial income, Wednesday saw the club reject the idea that foreign investment is on its way to Liberty Stadium, according to The Guardian.
A club spokesman stated that preliminary talks were only held with foreign investors as a means of exploring sponsorship avenues to increase commercial investment and revenue streams.
Swansea sit fifth in the Premier League table after an impressive start to the season that has seen them earn 10 points from their first six fixtures.
