Frank Lampard: Expected to Face Chelsea

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday that Lampard will be a part of the squad that faces Chelsea on Sunday. "Frank is part of our squad and tomorrow, I will give the squad list for that game. I'm sure he will be involved in that game as part of the squad. I don't think it is a difficult situation for him. He didn't continue at Chelsea because Chelsea didn't want him -- not because he wanted to come here to City," Pellegrini said.

Analysis:

Despite a likely active status, Lampard is a fairly limited fantasy contributor with Manchester City, who he will leave in January to head back to NYC FC of MLS. Man City do not travel to Stamford Bridge until Jan. 31, which means Lampard will not have a Chelsea homecoming.
