Mata came on for David Villa in the 56th minute and then scored in the 82nd minute of Spain's 3-0 win over Australia at the World Cup on Monday.

Mata's goal put the finishing touches on a dominant performance that was too-little-too-late for Spain, who had already been eliminated from knockout stage contention thanks to losses to Netherlands and Chile. Mata will not get a bit of a rest before he begins his first full season at Manchester United.
