David de Gea: Ruled Out of Group Stage
De Gea will be out for up to 10 days due to "muscular discomfort in [his] gluteal region," the Spanish FA announced.
Analysis:
De Gea underwent scans Sunday that revealed the muscle strain, which will make him unavailable for matches against Chile and Australia. There was some talk that de Gea could start after Iker Casillas' terrible performance against Netherlands, but if he were to be benched, Pepe Reina is now the only other option in net.
