Sturridge misses game vs. Palace; reportedly suffered hip injury

Having started only five Premier League games this season, Daniel Sturridge will once again be watching Liverpool away from the pitch.

Liverpool published its team sheet for Sunday's Premier League game versus Crystal Palace, and Sturridge was nowhere to be found. According to the Liverpool Echo's Kristian Walsh and Andy Kelly, the English forward suffered a recurrence of his hip injury, and, while the problem is not thought to be serious, it's related to the complaint which saw the player sidelined in February and March.

Sturridge apparently missed a couple of training sessions earlier in the week.

At the end of February, Jurgen Klopp confirmed Sturridge's future at Liverpool will be reviewed at the end of the season, saying: "We have to bring him back to the best shape possible and then bring this season to an end as successfully as possible. Then we will make decisions and speak about Daniel and any other players about what will happen at the end of the season. A lot of things will influence this and we can speak about it when it is time."

The last time Sturridge started for Liverpool was in January, when the Reds played Southampton in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.
