Manchester City's Bravo: Exit rumours are 'all false'

Claudio Bravo vehemently denied talk that he's seeking a quick exit from Manchester City this summer.

The ex-Barcelona goalkeeper has fallen quickly in five months - from being the usurper of fan favourite Joe Hart between the sticks, to playing second fiddle to Willy Caballero - but Bravo insisted he's not seeking a return to Spain after a difficult initiation in England.

"It's all false, that I'm looking for another place to play, because I want to leave, things that are not true," Bravo told the Manchester Evening News' Stuart Brennan.

He added: "I'm happy in England and so is my family."

The 33-year-old is currently with the Chile national team readying for a World Cup qualification bout against Venezuela on Tuesday. He played the full 90 minutes of Thursday's 1-0 defeat at Argentina - conceding a 16th-minute penalty to Lionel Messi - which left La Roja in sixth place in the standings.

With Chile's involvement at the 2018 World Cup in Russia hanging in the balance, and considering his struggles at club level, it's turning into an annus horribilis for Bravo - but he insisted he's determined to continue working under Pep Guardiola in Manchester.

"The issue that I was not playing came out, many examples of fake news have come out," Bravo said.

"Things that, above all, have no information about them. Many things also come out from this country that are not true - that I have a psychologist, or an English teacher to have a faster adaptation."

Guardiola has loyally backed Bravo throughout the goalkeeping gaffes and the subsequent drop from starting consideration, although speculation of summer moves for Sunderland's Jordan Pickford or Benfica's Ederson has prevailed.

City returns from the international break with a trip to Arsenal on Sunday.
