Lukaku: 'The decision has already been made' on Everton offer

Everton goal-machine Romelu Lukaku admits that he's made a decision on a contract offer from the Toffees, though there's a hitch.

"The decision has already been made so I can't talk about that," Lukaku said Friday while on international duty with Belgium, courtesy of ESPN FC.

With the Toffees desperate to keep hold of the Premier League goal chart-topper amid reported interest from the likes of Chelsea, the 23-year-old was offered a new lucrative deal from the Merseyside lot.

Lukaku's agent, Mino Raiola, then said that the Anderlecht academy grad had 99.9 percent agreed to the offer, only for sources to say that he would not be singing a new deal at Goodison Park.

The tale took another turn when Lukaku said Everton was "living in the past," hinting that the club's goals did not match his own.

"There is nothing wrong with ambition. You have to embrace it and where you are as a footballer," Lukaku said.

"I've made a long way until now but the road is still long and I know I have to improve and get better. I want to help Everton as much as I can, as well as the national team. I think a lot of stuff can be achieved."

With his current deal at Everton set to expire in 2019, it appears as if Lukaku has his eyes set on a move to a club with a chance at silverware. If that isn't the case, the Toffees will need to bolster its squad to match Lukaku's aspirations.

"Sometimes people will mistake things that I say but it's just ambition that I have; I want to win titles and trophies and I don't think people should take that as arrogance - people should embrace it.

"This is what footballers need to achieve if they want to become the best, and I think young kids need to learn that too."
