Michael Keane is well aware that interest on the transfer market is a reflection of his positive performance for Burnley this season.

But, while he's admittedly honoured by the reported interest, the 24-year-old is focused on Burnley's Premier League objective.

"It's flattering, but I'm focused on Burnley," Keane told reporters, according to FourFourTwo. "We've got nine games left in the season and we need to make sure we remain in the league.

"But to see things like that can only mean you're playing well."

Keane's path to Burnley was less than straightforward, as the central defender had dreams of succeeding with Manchester United before he was shipped an hour north.

Since the move, Keane helped Burnley win promotion last season and earned himself a call-up to the English national team before making his debut, and becoming the first Burnley player to be capped since 1974, during a 1-0 loss to Germany on Wednesday.

"I always thought that I was going to make it at United so when I left, I felt like I had a point to prove.

"If anything it made me work that bit harder. I'm thankful to (Burnley manager) Sean Dyche for the work he's done with me and the faith he's put in me - that's what has got me to where I am today."

According to ESPNFC's Glenn Price, there are several Premier League teams showing interest in Keane, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Everton, and Leicester City among those who might make a push once the summer transfer window opens.
