The fate of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil won't be decided until the summer.

Divisive Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed Wednesday the club has opted to postpone contract talks with its two star players. Both Ozil and Sanchez are bound to the Emirates until June 2018, but neither player is sure of extending their stay.

Sanchez's future remains under a heavy cloud of doubt following reports of a training-ground bust-up, which prompted his exclusion from Arsenal's matchday squad against Liverpool earlier this month.

Ozil, meanwhile, has struggled with form and illness.

It all comes at a delicate time for the Gunners, who have dropped out of the Champions League places after defeats in six of their past nine matches.

"At the moment we have not got an agreement. We have decided to focus on the end of the season and talk about it during the summer," Wenger told beIN SPORTS when asked of Sanchez. "It is the same situation with Ozil, because once you don't find an agreement and it lasts, it's not good, so it's better to sit down in the summer."

Wenger's own position at the club he has coached since 1996 is under intense scrutiny.

Various reports indicate he has a new two-year contract on the table from Arsenal's hierarchy, but fan unrest has reached a new level. Supporters commissioned a plane to fly over the Hawthorns with a "Wenger Out" banner during a 3-1 loss to West Brom on the weekend.

"My news is that I have no news for you. No matter how long I stay I will be committed," Wenger added. "How long I stay doesn't really matter because as long as I'm there I'm completely focused on what is best for the club.

"We suffer a lot at the moment, but when you take a little bit of distance and put things into perspective, we are two games in hand, we are in the semi-final of the (FA Cup) to prepare against (Manchester) City. Our season will be decided on how well we respond now to the difficult period we have."

The Frenchman also defended his record as Arsenal manager, a 21-season reign that's not only brought changes to the club's training habits and diet but also one that weathered years of belt-tightening following the move out of Highbury in 2006.

"My job is to make 100 percent of people happy," he added. "If you look at where the club was when I arrived and where the club is today, I'm quite proud of what I did for the club. After that, you know today we live in a period where people are very demanding, and I can understand that.

"I know, as well, I have guided this club through very difficult periods, with very limited resources. I have always managed to get the best out of the team and that's what I will do as long as I am at Arsenal Football Club."
