Arsenal supporters fearing summer exits for their marquee stars, look away.

With rumblings that German World Cup winner Mesut Ozil is discontent at Arsenal with a year-and-a-half remaining on his deal, the latest club reportedly monitoring the crafty passer is Fenerbahce.

The Istanbul club is allegedly looking to take advantage of both Ozil's unease in the English capital and his Turkish roots, with the Telegraph's Matt Law reporting Fenerbahce could fund the player's move with Robin van Persie's anticipated exit. The irony of that transaction would not be lost on many Arsenal fans.

Law adds that Arsenal would be looking to recoup at least £30 million of the £42.5 million paid to Real Madrid in 2013, though there are no certainties considering Ozil's regression in form and fitness issues. The Gelsenkirchen-born playmaker has not started since the 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in Germany and has since been ruled out for Die Mannschaft's friendly with England on Wednesday.

According to the Telegraph, Fenerbahce's advances are aided by Ozil's recent vacation in Istanbul with former Miss Turkey Anime Gulse where the Schalke academy product is reportedly eyeing a £5-million mansion.

With Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's future at the club in limbo, Ozil said earlier in March that while the embattled Frenchman was one of the variables involved in his London arrival, that his future is not tethered to the gaffer whose contract expires in the summer.

"I have always said I'm very happy at Arsenal. Everything fits here - the club, the fans, and the city. Arsene Wenger was also one of the main reasons why I joined Arsenal," Ozil told Bild, as translated by ESPN FC.

"However, I also know that in football everything moves very quickly and a lot differently to what you had planned. Therefore, it would be wrong to say that my future is dependent on the coach."
