Hull City has submitted an appeal against Tom Huddlestone's dismissal during Saturday's 4-0 loss at Everton.

The bulky midfielder concluded a trio of committed challenges from the Tigers with a 50-50 with Idrissa Gueye, but his effort to win possession was deemed a dangerous tackle by referee Paul Tierney, and Huddlestone was given his marching orders on 73 minutes.

Hull then collapsed with one less man, surrendering three goals in the remainder of the match to keep the club three points short of safety in 18th place.

Marco Silva's side expects to hear a decision from the Football Association later this week, and if the appeal is rejected Huddlestone will miss Premier League matches against West Ham United, fellow struggler Middlesbrough, and Manchester City.
