Joe Hart can't picture himself suiting up for Manchester City again, confessing he's "surplus to requirements" at his parent club.

The England international was loaned out to Serie A outfit Torino last summer after manager Pep Guardiola opted to go with the combination of Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero between the sticks, leaving Hart as the club's third-choice 'keeper.

With a lack of talks between the two parties, Hart isn't banking on a return to the Etihad Stadium.

"I'd say I’m pretty much surplus to requirements at my parent club at the moment and I don't see that changing," Hart said in an interview with the BBC’s Premier League Show.

"I love that club, I always said I would be there for as long as they wanted me, but things change fast. I was always cautious when I said that, I understand the business side of things."

Guardiola's decision to take an alternate route was one Hart saw coming, admitting it was pointless to prove his worth at the club considering the Spaniard's influence upon his arrival at City last summer.

"If you're not going to win there is no point in fighting, especially someone as powerful as that," Hart said.

He added: "He didn't do it to ruin my life, he did it because he thought that was what was right for him to win as a manager."

Although he's willing to return to the Premier League, Hart isn't limiting his options based on geography.

"I'm open," he said. "I love the Premier League, I absolutely love Premier League games. Removing myself a footballer, I watch the Premier League. It's a great league, fantastic football is played in it.

"I know it really well but I wouldn't say it was top of my wish list. Top of my wish list is to play for a club that wants me to be their goalkeeper."

Hart's agent, Jonathan Barnett, told Sky Sports he and his client have yet to discuss his future with the Premier League side but claimed the 29-year-old will not be short on options if his City career reaches a conclusion.
