Leading Manchester City goal-scorer Sergio Aguero revealed Thursday club officials have yet to tell him whether they want him to stay.

The 28-year-old, who has a contract until 2020, said he will sit down the City hierarchy in the summer to determine a solution.

"My intention is to stay but it is a long way away. I have three months to give my best and as I always said, in June it will be seen," said Aguero, according to the Guardian's Jamie Jackson.

"The club has not directly told me they want me to stay," he later added.

The Argentine's declarations add to Pep Guardiola's doubts over the player's long-term future. Guardiola refused to rule out the possibility Aguero could leave in the summer, with Real Madrid a widely considered destination.

"At the end of the season, I don't know," the Spaniard told reporters in February.

Gabriel Jesus' instant impact in the Premier League led to suggestions that Aguero could be expendable.

The Brazilian's foot injury, however, gave Aguero another chance to impress.

With two goals in the first leg of City's last-16 Champions League tie against Monaco and another brace in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Huddersfield, the former Atletico Madrid poacher is back at the forefront of Guardiola's attack.
