Roberto Mancini has no plans to succeed Claudio Ranieri at Leicester City.

The former Manchester City manager his reportedly been identified as a target to fill the vacancy after the Premier League champion announced Thursday that it had parted company with Ranieri.

However, it's believed that Mancini has "no desire" to manage the Foxes and that his lack of motivation to take over at the King Power Stadium stems from his poor experience at Leicester while he was on loan at the tail end of his career, sources told Mark Ashenden of Sky Sports.

Ashenden was told that a third party representing the Premier League side had reached out to Mancini, but there was not a "formal approach."

Similar to Ranieri, Mancini was relieved of his duties as City manager a season after leading the club to its first title in over 40 years.

The 52-year-old manager went on to manage Turkish giants Galatasaray before moving back to Italy where he managed Inter Milan until last summer when he was fired.
