Lukaku misses Everton's Dubai camp with calf concern

Romelu Lukaku hasn't travelled for Everton's training camp in Dubai so he can receive treatment on a calf injury in his native Belgium.

The striker, who smashed four beyond Bournemouth on Feb. 4 before being held out in last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough, will be available for the Toffees' next outing against Sunderland on Feb. 25.

Lukaku, 23, and long-term absentee Yannick Bolasie were the only senior players not to make the trip to the United Arab Emirates. Muhamed Besic, a victim of repeated injury issues since his 2014 switch from Hungary's Ferencvaros, is with the group after a knee setback left him out of contention for over six months.

During the Dubai camp, Idrissa Gueye talked of his blossoming relationship with new boy Morgan Schneiderlin in the midfield, with their shared language of French certainly helping matters.

"He can give me some directions and that is more easy for me to talk with him," Gueye, a summer signing from Aston Villa, told the club website.

"Morgan is a good guy and he settled easily into the team. We all like him.

"I need to improve on my English - Morgan's is better than mine! We talk in English but if there's something I don't understand, we can speak in French and that is good for me."
