Bravo dropped to City bench for West Ham trip

Pep Guardiola's patience with Claudio Bravo may have worn a little thin.

The flapping veteran has been demoted to the substitutes' bench for Wednesday's trip to West Ham United, with backup goalkeeper Willy Caballero entrusted with duties between the sticks.

At the other end of the pitch, Gabriel Jesus leads the forward line with Sergio Aguero waiting in reserve after overcoming a knock.

Guardiola will be hoping Jesus can rehash his promising early understanding with Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane, evidenced in last Saturday's 3-0 FA Cup fourth-round win at Crystal Palace. The 19-year-old Brazilian teed up Sterling for the opener, and Sane was the beneficiary of service from David Silva to bag the second.

There's also a place on the bench for Fernandinho after serving a four-match suspension for his second red card on domestic duty this term. He picked up an additional dismissal in Champions League play when he received two yellow cards against Borussia Monchengladbach in November.

For West Ham, Jose Fonte is handed his debut following an £8-million switch from Southampton, while Robert Snodgrass awaits his Irons bow among the seven potential replacements.

West Ham will be looking to brush away memories of its defeat to City in east London by a 5-0 scoreline in Jan. 6's FA Cup match.
