Chelsea manager Antonio Conte confirmed to reporters Monday that veteran right full-back Branislav Ivanovic is speaking with clubs about a potential move away, amid reports linking the Serbia international to Zenit St. Petersburg.

Sky Sports reports that a deal for Ivanovic is "99 percent done" and Ivanovic will join the Russian outfit on a free transfer having agreed personal terms. The club is reportedly offering a two-and-a-half year contract with a third-year option, with the deal expected to be completed before the Jan. 31 deadline.

Speaking to reporters ahead of an Anfield clash against Liverpool, Conte said he doesn't know if a decision has been made yet regarding Ivanovic's future, but provided more details regarding a possible departure.

"Honestly, I didn't speak with the player about this decision," Conte said before his side's Tuesday tilt against Liverpool, as quoted by Sky Sports. "For sure we know is talking with other clubs but until now I don't know anything. We have to wait.

"He has played a lot of games for Chelsea and has won a lot here. He is 32 years old and can play many more years at the top level but it's important to respect the player's decision.

"If you are not playing a lot, you can make a decision to go to another team but, with respect for him, I am sorry to see him go.

"When you start the season with a certain group and you try to create a link between the staff and players, we are sorry if someone decides to go away.

"But we know it is football and we are prepared for every situation."

Ivanovic has been limited in his playing time under Conte's preferred 3-4-3 formation, with Cesar Azpilicueta moving into the middle of the backline and Victor Moses operating as a right wing-back.

He has made just six starts this season for Chelsea in the Premier League, appearing off the bench a further seven times. Ivanovic boasts over 300 appearances for the Blues since he joined the club in January 2008, and has notched 21 goals in that time.
