Watch: Gyan heads home, becomes Ghana's all-time top scorer at AFCON
Controversy always seems to surround Asamoah Gyan, but, at the end of the day, the Ghanaian striker is a model of consistency for his national team.
On Saturday, in the 21st minute of Ghana's Group D fixture against Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations, Gyan headed home an aerial pass from Jordan Ayew to become the Black Stars' all-time top scorer at the tournament. Specifically, the 31-year-old boasts eight goals on African football's most prestigious stage, a tally that started in 2008.
If that isn't impressive enough, Gyan, who is making his sixth appearance at an Africa Cup of Nations - a Ghanaian record - scored in all of the last six editions of the tournament.
Gyan's header marked the match's lone goal, as Ghana claimed a 1-0 victory and remains undefeated at the Africa Cup of Nations.
