Mourinho expects De Gea, Romero to stay at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho isn't buying what the Argentinian media is selling.

On Friday, one day after Ole reported Boca Juniors proposed a deal that would see Sergio Romero join Los Xeneizes on loan until May, Mourinho hit back at the speculation, saying "anyone can write a blog." The report also said David De Gea will "surely" leave Manchester United in June and join Real Madrid after his move to Los Blancos collapsed last year in spectacular fashion.

"I want them both to stay," Mourinho said, according to the Guardian's Paul Wilson. "I could not ask for a better goalkeeper or a better replacement and I expect these reports will turn out not to be true. The world of football media these days is full of lies - anyone can write a blog - and we tend not to worry about this sort of speculation any more because in most cases it is untrue."

Daniel Angelici, Boca's president, confirmed his club's interest in Romero on Wednesday but explained the Argentinian 'keeper doesn't want to return to South America just yet. Edgardo Bauza told the 29-year-old that, in order to start for Argentina, he must start for United. However, the product of Racing Club is yet to start a single fixture during the 2016-17 Premier League season.

De Gea is under contract at United until at least 2019, while Romero's three-year deal expires in 2018.
