Elabdellaoui reunites with Hull manager Silva on loan

Hull City manager Marco Silva used his connections at former club Olympiacos to swing a loan deal for right-back Omar Elabdellaoui, who will remain at the KCOM Stadium until the end of the season.

The Premier League outfit announced the signing Friday.

Elabdellaoui, 25, came through Manchester City's academy before experimenting with Stromsgodset, Feyenoord, and Eintracht Braunschweig.

In 2014, the Norway international moved to Olympiacos, where he enjoyed some of the best football of his career. He earned enough seniority during his time in Greece to captain the team last year.

Elabdellaoui would give Hull some tactical flexibility, especially after a spell during which the Tigers played with a back three. In the immediate future, he could offer cover for Ahmed El Mohamady, who is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Egypt.

"We haven't been able to play with a natural right-back since I arrived here, and so it is a position we needed to find a solution for," Silva told the club's official website. "Omar is a player I know and he has come here to help improve our squad."

Elabdellaoui could make his debut Sunday against Chelsea.
