Koeman's red Christmas tree needles Everton fans
In an offshoot from on-pitch matters, who would've thought that displaying a rather traditional-looking Christmas tree on Twitter could draw such disappointment?
Everton manager Ronald Koeman's efforts to spruce up his house for the holidays needled some of the club's fans, all of whom presumably avoid red when dressing their firs because it's the colour of local rival Liverpool.
It remains to be seen whether Koeman will bough to the pressure to redecorate, but considering the recent downturn in form for the seventh-place Toffees, it looks like the "No, Tannenbaum" crowd will get its wish of a blue, blue Christmas regardless.
Everton hopes to skirt such concerns when the club begins the busy festive period with a visit from Manchester United on Sunday.
