Watch: Liverpool, Leeds observe minute's silence for Chapecoense
Liverpool and Leeds United linked arms and held a minute's silence Tuesday for the victims of Tuesday's tragic plane crash that killed players and staff of Brazilian club Chapecoense.
The chartered flight carrying the Copa Sudamericana finalist plummeted in a mountainous region during its approach to Medellin, where Chapecoense was due to play Atletico Nacional.
At least 75 people of the 81 on board died, according to reports, sending Brazil and world football into a state of mourning.
Liverpool staged a tribute of its own prior to hosting Tuesday's EFL Cup tie against Leeds, which was immaculately observed by all in attendance.
Supporters of the club also unfurled a Brazilian flag in the colours of Anfield.
Former Brazil international Lucas Leiva was named captain for the Reds, and requested to wear a black armband for his fallen compatriots, reports Henry Winter of Times Sport.
Manager Jurgen Klopp obliged, and allowed all Liverpool players to wear one.
