Report: Kane demanding £120K per week to sign new Tottenham deal

If Harry Kane is going to remain at Tottenham beyond 2020, the reigning Premier League Golden Boot winner wants a bumper contract worth at least £120,000 a week, according to The Telegraph's Matt Law.

The 23-year-old's demands pose complications for club chairman Daniel Levy, who doesn't have a single Tottenham player on a six-figure sum per week.

The north London outfit has managed to tie down eight senior players over the past few months, including midfield stars Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

But Kane and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris - the team's two biggest attractions - are playing a tougher game at the negotiation table.

Kane has reportedly based his valuation on Jamie Vardy, his England teammate, who signed a deal worth more than £100,000 a week to remain at Premier League champion Leicester City over the summer.

Considering the Tottenham striker beat Vardy to the scoring crown last season with 25 goals, the estimate is on par with the going rate for a top-tier poacher.

Kane could reasonably expect to pull in around £200,000 a week if he were to join the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, or Manchester United, according to Law.

The question at White Hart Lane concerns the club's wage structure. With a new stadium being built and a swath of new contracts already signed, chairman Levy has yet to open talks over a new agreement.

But neither Tottenham nor Kane is in a hurry to find a compromise, Law notes.

The highest earner is Lloris, who pulls in £80,000 a week. Kane is currently on £60,000.
