Jose Mourinho's day is going from bad to worse.

When addressing the media after seeing his Manchester United side get trounced 4-0 at his old employer Chelsea on Sunday, the Portuguese gaffer revealed that an injury suffered by Eric Bailly during the match could see him sidelined for some time.

The Ivorian sustained the apparent knee ligament issue when Eden Hazard collided with him on 50 minutes and was replaced by Marcos Rojo two minutes later with his side 2-0 down.

The Argentinian didn't fare much better, casting doubts over United's backline for its upcoming meetings with archrival Manchester City in the League Cup, Burnley in Premier League duty, and then a tough journey to Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

Bailly joined Mourinho's United revolution from Villarreal in the summer for £30 million, and made a decent impression in his debut English campaign before falling to his ailment. He missed 10 matches through injury last term.
