3 things to watch this weekend: 2 unbeatens clash at White Hart Lane

With midweek continental fixtures in the rearview mirror and a brief international intermission on the horizon, this weekend's Premier League matches provide an opportunity for clubs in England's top flight to both better poor starts and set the tone for the remainder of the calendar year.

Manchester City travels to north London to face Tottenham in hopes of maintaining a blemish-free start, Arsenal's lethal attack pays Burnley a visit to mark Arsene Wenger's 20th anniversary, and Swansea City welcomes a red-hot Liverpool side as Swans gaffer Francesco Guidolin continues to work on borrowed time.

City to continue bright start at White Hart

Unquestionably the weekend's marquee matchup, Pep Guardiola and Co. travel to north London Sunday in a clash of the Premier League's last two unbeaten sides.

While City has had little trouble winning its first six league fixtures, outscoring opponents by a 13-goal margin, Mauricio Pochettino is certain to employ a stifling press that will demand the most from Pep's full-backs. With Aleksandar Kolarov, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, and Pablo Zabaleta all on the wrong side of 30, whoever Pep chooses will face the unenviable task of containing an in-form Heung-Min Son.

Pair that with an injury to Kevin De Bruyne and a suspension for reliable summer signing Nolito, and City could have its hands full. Then again, there's always the threat of Sergio Aguero, who has scored 10 goals in nine appearances against Pochettino's lot, including a quartet last October.

Guidolin guillotine on hold

Asked about his job security at Swansea ahead of a visit from red-hot Liverpool, Francesco Guidolin was candid to a fault, saying, "It could happen. Maybe. It's not easy (to beat Liverpool). But if we win for the period of the international break you don't speak any more about my position."

If the Swans can muster an effort similar to the one they displayed in defeat to Manchester City, Guidolin may live to see another day. In terms of positives for Swansea, Liverpool has yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and shot-stopping summer signing Loris Karius has yet to be tested in two matches. Pair that with a likely start for unfamiliar centre-half duo Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip, and Swansea's high press could exploit holes in Liverpool's backline.

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente, who performed admirably against City, will be depended upon to link-up in spaces between Liverpool's three-man midfield and its back four.

Arsenal's attack set to thrash Burnley

Arsene Wenger celebrates his 20th anniversary with Arsenal at Turf Moor on Sunday, and Sean Dyche and Burnley will be hoping that the front four of Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil, Alex Iwobi, and Alexis Sanchez miss the bus.

Having outscored its opponents 13-1 in its last four fixtures in all competitions, Arsenal travels to Lancashire boasting the Premier League's in-form attack courtesy of Sanchez's move to striker and Walcott's blistering string of performances.

The last time Burnley beat Arsenal, a Kevin McDonald brace was the difference in a 2008 League Cup fifth-round tilt. Only Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey, and Francis Coquelin remain from the side that was bested on a blustery December night at Turf Moor, and one would have to think that this Sunday's result will be a different story.
