Yaya's agent Seluk: 'I can say whatever I like' about Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has thrown down the gauntlet in requesting an apology from Yaya Toure about his agent's conduct before he's involved in first-team duties, and the Ivorian's representative is instead running into it with arms swinging.

The Manchester City manager was upset by Dimitri Seluk questioning whether he "has the balls" to admit he was wrong in leaving Toure off the roster if City fails to win the Champions League this season. To fix the discord, Guardiola wanted an admission that Seluk was sorry for being characteristically controversial when disclosing these sentiments to the media.

Instead, Seluk has bitten back, seemingly barring Toure from senior commitments for even longer.

"Guardiola wins a few games and think he is king," Seluk told Sky Sports News. "I live in Europe so I can say whatever I like and Guardiola can't stop me.

"I will apologise to Guardiola if he will apologise to Manuel Pellegrini for what he did to him."

Pellegrini had one-and-a-half years remaining on his contract when City revealed in February that Guardiola would replace him at the end of the 2015-16 season. Despite this change being dubbed as one of the worst-kept secrets in football since Txiki Begiristain became the club's director of football in 2012, Seluk deemed this act as Guardiola stabbing his Chilean predecessor in the back.

The likelihood appears to be Toure remaining out of contention for City, as apologies from Guardiola and Seluk do not appear to be forthcoming. The 33-year-old, who joined City from Barcelona in 2010, was believed to be set for his first competitive involvement this term in Wednesday's League Cup trip to Swansea City.
