Rashford's stoppage-time goal keeps Man U's perfect start alive

Manchester United maintained their perfect start to the season Saturday against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium thanks to a last-gasp winner from Marcus Rashford.

It was a cruel ending for Hull, as deep into stoppage time Rashford bundled home after Wayne Rooney had gotten the better of Ahmed Elmohamady on the left flank.

The first half was well-matched with United (3-0-0) often pressing forward but finding no way through a stubborn Hull defence, championed by Curtis Davies, who crucially intercepted countless passes.

Rooney went closest when he followed up Juan Mata's parried effort, but his shot was hacked off the line. Hull (2-0-1) looked to have nullified United's threat for much of the second half, despite almost never venturing out of their own half.

But the visitors turned up the heat in the final 10 minutes, with Rashford's introduction giving the Old Trafford outfit a new lease of life. Henrikh Mkhitaryan also contributed massively after his second-half substitution, certainly bidding for a starting place in United's next outing.
