Newcastle has allowed Daryl Janmaat to join Watford after the two clubs reached a £7.5-million agreement for the Dutch right-back, according to Adam Leventhal and Keith Downie of Sky Sports.

Manager Rafa Benitez admitted Monday that Janmaat could leave the Magpies if a "fantastic" offer arrived, and it appears one has.

Newcastle is now expected to make a profit on a player it signed for £5 million in 2014.

A marauding full-back who tallied two goals and four assists in the Premier League last season, Janmaat reportedly drew interest from West Ham as well.

He would likely play as a wing-back in Watford manager Walter Mazzarri's 3-5-2 formation.

"He is a good professional and I don't have any problem," said Benitez. "If someone comes with a fantastic offer, for us or for him, we will analyse everything, but at the moment he is a player that is in our team, in our squad, and I don't have a problem playing him if it is necessary."

Janmaat, however, was conspicuous in his absence from Tuesday's League Cup fixture against Cheltenham.

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas understands a replacement has already been found in the form of DeAndre Yedlin, who's in Newcastle to complete a medical. Yedlin spent the 2015-16 season on loan at rival Sunderland, where he finally found his Premier League breakthrough.

Janmaat would represent the 12th departure from St. James' Park this summer.
