The 27-year-old Austrian was possibly going to end a three-year stay in the Potteries after being tempted to the new riches on Merseyside, but his new deal at Stoke will allay any fears of an impending exit.
Arnautovic scored 11 and laid on six assists last term, at times showing some potent cohesion with attacking partners Bojan Krkic and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Stoke starts its 2016-17 campaign at Middlesbrough on Aug. 13.
