Aubameyang: Only Real Madrid could tempt me from Dortmund

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won't leave Borussia Dortmund for any other club - well, except Real Madrid.

The Gabonese speedster was subject to reported interest from Manchester City earlier this summer, but has simultaneously quashed suggestions of that move but opened the door for another through his words to German television network ZDF.

"The only club that could take me away from Dortmund is Real Madrid and no other club at this moment," the forward said, according to AS.

Aubameyang was explosive in the Bundesliga last term, bagging 25 strikes in just 28 starts as he habitually left flat-footed backlines reeling due to his lightning pace. He was often a beneficiary of work from Manchester United new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan on numerous occasions, however, and Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan have also left - for Bayern Munich and Manchester City respectively - in a mini-exodus of the Westfalenstadion.

It is perhaps these departures that encouraged Aubameyang to sight a team befitting his ambitions, but his route into Los Blancos' starting XI wouldn't be seamless. Manager Zinedine Zidane's preferred "BBC" triumvirate in attack - Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo - saw the likes of James Rodriguez scrambling for first-team minutes in 2015-16.

Aubameyang, 27, is set to continue his preseason preparations against Manchester City in Shenzhen, China on Thursday.
