Having helped carry Independiente del Valle to the final of this year's Copa Libertadores, Jose Angulo is reportedly on Stoke City's radar.

According to Ed Aarons of the Guardian, Stoke is interested in signing Angulo, who, at only 21 years of age, boasts six goals to his name in this year's Copa Libertadores and another four in Ecuador's Serie A. The Ecuadorian forward's agent, Matias Lipman, also claims there is interest from AS Monaco.

"So far Stoke and Monaco have shown an interest but I'm sure when the Copa Libertadores final game is played there will be other Premier League clubs involved," Lipman said.

Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, and Palermo are apparently also interested in Angulo's services.

Independiente del Valle became only the third club from Ecuador to reach the final of the Copa Libertadores by defeating Boca Juniors in the semi-finals of this year's edition of the tournament. The story is remarkable given that the minnow was playing in the third division of Ecuadorian football only years ago and operates along the lines of an academy by developing younger players.

Angulo is just one example of the numerous players groomed under Pablo Repetto, Independiente del Valle's Uruguayan manager.

Independiente del Valle and Atletico Nacional will kick off the final of this year's Copa Libertadores on Wednesday, when the first leg takes place at Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa in Quito, Ecuador.
