Mkhitaryan: I'll get 'better and better' at United

New boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan excited Manchester United fans Saturday with his first-half display at Wigan Athletic, and the Armenian tips himself to keep on improving.

The friendly outing was the midfielder's first appearance since joining this summer from Borussia Dortmund, but he was able to showcase his keen eye for a pass despite his short time on the pitch.

"I would say it was a good game," Mkhitaryan, 27, told MUTV. "The first half was a little bit difficult because we couldn't score a goal.

"But whatever, we made a good game and thank you to my team-mates. I was trying to feel comfortable. I think day by day it will be better."

Will Keane tapped home on 49 minutes after Juan Mata capitalised on a poor clearance by veteran Latics goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, and then Andreas Pereira rounded off the scoring with a fine bang into the top corner.

When asked how he was settling in northwest England, Mkhitaryan responded: "I am trying, because the first days are always very difficult. You have to get to know your teammates and their qualities, so I am trying to learn everything very quickly.

"Game by game it will be better and better. Of course we're getting ready for the new season so we are trying to do everything the coach is asking from us."

Fellow debutant Eric Bailly played 82 minutes, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic's involvement in the upcoming preseason tour of China is up in the air.

United kicks off its Jose Mourinho era after the warmup commitments with a Community Shield clash Aug. 7 against Leicester City, before it begins its Premier League season at Bournemouth a week later.
