Raheem Sterling looks set to get another chance.

Multiple reports in England, including The Guardian and The Times, suggest that the maligned winger will be recalled into the Three Lions' starting lineup for Monday's clash against Iceland, with Adam Lallana expected to drop to the bench.

The Manchester City youngster, who has not played since being substituted at halftime of the 2-1 victory over Wales, is expected to be one of six changes made by manager Roy Hodgson.

Reports suggest the gaffer will opt for a 4-3-3 system, with Harry Kane spearheading an attacking trio of Sterling and Daniel Sturridge. In midfield, Wayne Rooney and Dele Alli will return to the lineup, while first-choice Tottenham duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose will once again assume the two full-back positions.

Sterling, derided for a pair of lacklustre showings in his first two contests, got the backing of his captain heading into Monday's match.

"From what I've seen his state of mind is fine," Rooney said of the 21-year-old.

"What we've seen on the training pitch of Raheem he's been fantastic, sharp, taking players on, scoring goals.

"There's no issue with Raheem at all. He's a huge asset to us as a team, a fantastic player and one who can turn the game in a split second. If anyone is questioning his attitude or state of mind, they'd be mistaken in having that judgment."
