Tyrese Campbell has emerged has one of the hottest young players in England after the Under-17 international snubbed a scholarship deal at Manchester City.

Arsenal and West Ham United are set to pounce on the 16-year-old striker who's bagged an incredible 97 goals at youth level over the past two seasons, sources told ESPN FC's Peter O'Rourke.

Despite the mass investment Manchester City made in building the £200-million Etihad Campus, which houses the youth teams and senior squad, Campbell reportedly wasn't convinced of an eventual progression into the Premier League XI and is now free to speak with clubs after turning down a contract.

Arsenal would like to use its connection with the precocious Campbell - the fact his father Kevin played for the club in the late '80s and early '90s - to tempt him to the Emirates Stadium, but West Ham is a significant rival in the pursuit.
