Wenger hints at possible move for Kante after Vardy snub
Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger is moving on from one Leicester City star to another.
After Jamie Vardy rejected the north London side's attempt to lure him away from the KP Stadium, Wenger appeared to shift his focus when he heaped praise on midfielder N'Golo Kante and refused to rule out a move for the French international this summer.
"Kante is on the list of many clubs," Wenger told beIN Sports. "It is an area where we have many players.
"We will see what happens in the next two or three weeks. It looks like Leicester have bought a player from Nice (Nampalys Mendy) with similar qualities to Kante, so whether they envisage to lose him or not I don't know."
Kante has continued to impress at Euro 2016 with France following his breakout season with the Premier League champions.
But, as Wenger mentioned, Leicester might be preparing for life without the 26-year-old as the team closes in on a move for Mendy, who reportedly visited the team's training ground ahead of a transfer that's expected to cost the Foxes £13 million.
Wenger also added that he respects Vardy's decision to remain with Leicester after the English forward agreed to a new four-year deal with the league champions Thursday.

"He came late to the game and in fairness Leicester bought him from Fleetwood and he has been successful," he said. "He is 29 and he has chosen to stay at Leicester. You have to respect that."
