Majority holder Kroenke increases Arsenal shares

American businessman Stan Kroenke has raised his majority share of Premier League giant Arsenal after purchasing 23 ordinary shares for £368,000, upping his shareholding to 67.05 percent.

Kroenke Sports Enterprise (KSE) revealed under corporate disclosure that it raised its totals to 41.721 shares on Thursday, according to Sky Sports.

Since first dipping his toe in Arsenal waters with an initial 12.19 percent stake in the club in 2008, Kroenke became majority owner in 2011 when he purchased shares from Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith to take his holdings to 62.89 percent.

An object of derision among both Arsenal supporters and fans of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams - who moved from St. Louis to the West Coast this year after a decade in Missouri - Kroenke's methods often appear to value the dollar over on-field exploits.

Concerned that as long as the club makes money, profits will trump results, some Arsenal fans made Kroenke the focus of banners at Emirates Stadium during the second half of the season.
