Report: Mourinho agrees to personal terms with Manchester United

Jose Mourinho's imminent appointment as the new manager of Manchester United is upon us, with Sky Sports reporting the Portuguese tactician has agreed to personal terms with the club but is still negotiating other details of his contract.

Sky Sports reports the two parties are negotiating commercial factors of the deal, with Mourinho's ties to Jaguar potentially conflicting with United's seven-year association with General Motors.

The deal, which is expected to be formally announced Wednesday, would see Mourinho become the fifth manager in the last five years to lead the Red Devils.

Sky Sports writes that negotiations between Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes and United vice-chairman Ed Woodward have been "swift and positive."

The two met in London on Tuesday to begin talks for a reported three-year deal worth in excess of the £7.5-million salary Mourinho commanded at Chelsea.

The deal comes as Dutch manager Louis van Gaal was let go by the Red Devils after two years at the helm of the club.

Mourinho is reportedly also keen on bringing his long-term assistant, Rui Faria, to the club, clouding uncertainty over the future of United legend Ryan Giggs, who was assistant to Van Gaal.

Giggs has allegedly been offered a role with Mourinho's coaching staff, though the specific role is unclear.
