Arsenal tops Premier League central payments with over £100M

The Premier League announced Tuesday figures for central income payments made to clubs for the 2015-16 season, with Arsenal earning the highest amount at £100,952,257, approximately £3 million more than Manchester City and £44 million more than Aston Villa.

Based on the Premier League Founder Members' Agreement of 1992, clubs receive a payment in the form of a 1.52:1 ratio from top and bottom, which includes 50 percent of UK broadcast revenue split equally among all 20 clubs, as well as 25 percent of "Merit Payments" and "Facility Fees."

All 20 clubs also received an equal share of international broadcast revenue and central commercial revenue.

The figures are not much higher than those of the 2014-15 Premier League season, when Chelsea earned £99 million. However, with a massive new television deal coming to England next season - valued at £5.14 billion over the next three years - those figures should inflate tremendously in next year's report.
