Christian Benteke is eager to clear the air over his future as a Liverpool player.

After a season when he struggled for regular playing time, the Belgian forward will meet with manager Jurgen Klopp to discuss his role on the team ahead of his second season at Anfield.

Benteke said he's happy to see out the rest of the long-term contract he signed last summer when Liverpool secured his services from Aston Villa, but the 25-year-old admitted he needs assurances over his role heading into the summer.

"Of course, I signed for five years," Benteke told Paul Vinnell of Sky Sports. "I didn't sign for one year.

"But now I must speak with the manager and see his plan for next season.

"My first season wasn't easy but I keep going. I never doubt myself. I am going now to focus on the Euros and we will see next season."

Liverpool paid £32.5 million to complete his move from Villa, but Benteke has failed to live up to expectations after scoring just 11 goals during 45 appearances in all competitions.
