Cech awarded Golden Glove after De Gea concedes last-second goal
Arsenal's Petr Cech has been awarded the Premier League's Golden Glove Tuesday after Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea conceded an own goal late in a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth.
Red Devils defender Chris Smalling's own goal was the difference, scoring three minutes into injury time in a one-sided affair at Old Trafford.
The Czech international's 16 clean-sheets this season was one better than a trio of top flight 'keepers, De Gea, Manchester City's Joe Hart, and Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel.
It's the fourth time Cech has won the trophy that was first awarded at the end of the 2004-05 season, with at least two years separating his previous three honours. He also holds the Premier League record for most clean-sheets after passing David James in December.
Cech now boasts 178 goalless efforts in the English top flight.
